Jeep® Brand launches exclusive Jeep Adventure exhibition at MotorVillage Champs-Elysées Paris

A new exhibition dedicated entirely to the Jeep® range has opened in the heart of Paris.
Jeep Adventure, which tells the global SUV brand's history and evolution and showcases its latest product line-up, will occupy all five floors of MotorVillage Champs-Elysées until mid-summer. It is the first time the whole of the MotorVillage complex has been given over entirely to the Jeep brand.

Among the stars of the show will be the all-new Jeep Wrangler - the fourth generation of the most iconic Jeep of all - the new Jeep Cherokee, the most capable, mid-size SUV that made history in its category and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, the most powerful Jeep SUV ever. All three models are on display in France for the first time, just two months after making their debut at Geneva International Motor show.

But visitors to the Paris showroom located at the end of the Champs-Elysées will have the opportunity to get up close to the entire Jeep line-up while learning more about how the American brand earned its legendary status.

The ground floor of the exhibition features the very latest Jeep models and has a surfing theme inspired by the brand's partnership with the World Surf League (WSL).

The all-new 4-door Wrangler Rubicon is displayed in a surfing environment and looks stunning in bright yellow, with doors removed to add to its unique appeal. The model will soon play a prominent role at Camp Jeep, the annual gathering for off-road enthusiasts that will take place in Austria on July 13-15.

Also on the ground floor will be the new Cherokee, the mid-size SUV, which is making its French début in Paris before arriving in Jeep dealerships across Europe later this year. Boasting a Crystal Granite exterior, the Cherokee is showcased in a 'city business' setting that perfectly matches with its premium character.


Opposite is the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk, the most adventurous trim in the Compass range, which is showcased against a country backdrop.

On Floor 1, the new Jeep Compass is displayed against an urban backdrop that will give visitors the chance to better appreciate its contemporary and modern design.

Meanwhile, Floor -1 reveals the Renegade - recently enhanced with updated interiors and infotainment - in a mountain setting that shows just why the latest special edition model for the French market was named 'Aspen'.

And die-hard fans of the brand will love Floor 2, which is dedicated entirely to the Willys - the very first Jeep and the model universally credited with beginning the Jeep legend.

To highlight the recently signed partnership between the National Basketball League (LNB) and the Jeep brand, two official Jeep® ELITE models - a Renegade and a Compass - named after the French men's basketball championship are displayed in a sports environment.

Finally, inside the tube on Floor -2, the all-new 2-door Wrangler Sahara model is displayed tackling an extreme off-road trail, and by its side, under the city's skylights, the new Grand Cherokee Trackhawk - the most powerful Jeep SUV ever - showcases its imposing stance which conceals its 6.2 litre compressed V-8 engine delivering 700 hp at 6,000 rpm and 868 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm and its specially-made powerful Brembo brakes.

The Jeep Adventure aims to expand the popularity of the full range of Jeep SUVs. Other Jeep models will also take centre stage during the exhibition, including the limited edition models Brooklyn (exclusive to the French market) and Wrangler JK.

Superb race for the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team with Charles Leclerc finishing in P6


2018 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix - Race - Sunday

Weather: cloudy/windy and dry, 16-17°C air, 23-28°C track

It was a fantastic Grand Prix for the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team at the Baku City Circuit. In an eventful and hectic race with difficult track and weather conditions, today's target was to finish the race, scoring the best possible results and both Charles Leclerc and Marcus Ericsson did a very good job. The Monegasque rookie finished the fourth race of his debut season in sixth place, scoring eight points for the team. Starting in P13 with a one-stop race strategy, he put in a strong and consistent performance, and steadily made his way to the front of the midfield. Marcus Ericsson successfully advanced to P11 and was able to save a difficult race that was compromised by his involvement in an early incident that resulted in him pitting and changing strategy. The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team now holds a total of ten points in this season's Constructor's Championship, placing the team in ninth place. Charles Leclerc is in thirteenth with Marcus Ericsson in sixteenth in the Drivers' Championship.

Marcus Ericsson (car number 9):

"It was a difficult race for me. I was involved in an incident at the beginning of the race, and picked up some damage to the car. I was struggling to keep everything together after that, and I gave everything to catch up with my direct competitors. In the end, it was good to manage to finish in P11. As a team, we have scored points for the second time this season, which is very motivating, and our potential is becoming more clear with every weekend. We must keep up the good work now. I look forward to the next race weekend in Barcelona."

"It was an amazing race today - I am very happy with my result. It was definitely eventful, with many incidents on track making it especially challenging and fun to drive. I felt comfortable in the car, and did my best to gradually advance to the front of the midfield through the race. It is an incredible feeling to score points for the first time in Formula 1. As a team, we can see our potential, and know what our strengths are. I am very pleased, and look forward to continuing on this positive path."

Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal:
"We are very pleased with the job that we have done this whole weekend starting from Friday and then a good qualifying session. Charles scored his first points in Formula 1 today, finishing in P6. He had a strong pace and did a consistent job. It was a huge step for him to make and he can be proud of what he has achieved. Marcus put up a good fight. He was involved in an incident at the beginning of the race, which set him back and made it tough for him, however, he managed to recover and catch up with the midfield. He finally finished in P11 and was very close to scoring points. It is a great achievement for the team, not only for the points but also for the pace shown especially in the first stint. Now we have to stay focused in order to continue this good work."

Two victories for Italian driver Barberini in the Abarth Selenia Trophy at Imola



  • Driving the Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione, Barberini came home first ahead of young fellow Italian Mabellini in Race 1 and Finnish driver Pajuranta in race 2.
  • In the Abarth 500 Corse category, the very young Lazzaroni (Ita) won twice, with Aurora Coria (Ita) in second place.
Success for Italy at the first event in the Abarth Selenia Trophy calendar, held on the Imola circuit on Sunday 29 April: reigning champion Cosimo Barberini, driving an Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione, won both the day's races, ahead of young fellow Italian Andrea Mabellini in the first and Finnish driver Juuso Pajuranta in the second. But these were not easy wins, in view of the technical difficulty of the Imola track, with its continuous climbs and downhills, which highlighted all the 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione and Abarth 500 Assetto Corse cars' excellent handling and stability. In the category reserved for the latter model - the entry level in automotive racing - victory went to very young Italian driver Filippo Lazzaroni, who finished ahead of young Aurora Coria, winner in the Women's class.

Both races were extremely exciting. In the first, Barberini got a fast start from pole position and held on to first place, while behind him Mabellini, Appelqvist (SWE) and Pajuranta (FIN) battled fiercely for second with some spectacular overtaking (although fair play was always strictly observed). Barberini took advantage of this situation to extend his lead to a very safe margin, which however he wiped out three laps from the end with a mistake on the Rivazza bend, which allowed his rivals to catch up. Barberini managed to hold on to first place to the finishing line, coming home ahead of Mabellini - who recorded the fastest lap at an average of 143.595 km/h - and Pajuranta, who overtook Appelqvist on the final bend.

To make the second race more spectacular, the Abarth Selenia Trophy rules requires the first 8 finishers in Race 1 to start in reverse order: the winner starts from the fourth row in 8th position and the 8th to finish in pole, so that the fastest drivers start from the back of the field and are forced to do some exciting overtaking to obtain the lead. So after a few laps, the same four drivers as in Race 1 were again fighting for victory, and Barberini again achieved the win, ahead of Pajuranta and Mabellini. Appelqvist was fourth again.

The winner, Cosimo Barberini, was very happy: "Imola's a circuit where you can't get away with the slightest error and a moment's carelessness can lose you a race: in Race 1 I went into Rivazza too fast and almost ran off the track into the sand. Luckily I managed to control my Abarth and hang on to the lead, but my heart was in my mouth!".

Barberini heads the overall Abarth Selenia Trophy ranking with 51 points, followed by Mabellini and Pajuranta, tied on 34.

At Imola the fans from "Scorpionship" - the official Abarth community - had a thrilling day, enjoying the meeting together with the drivers in the paddock. They and the many fans at the circuit also had the chance to try out the Abarth range, comprising the Abarth 595, 595 Pista, 595 Turismo, 595 Competizione, 695 Biposto and Abarth 124 spider, on the roads around Imola and, above all, the exciting opportunity to drive the same brilliant cars on the mythical Santerno track with professional drivers at their side, for a burst of pure adrenalin. This opportunity will again be on offer at the other upcoming Abarth Selenia Trophy events: the next will be on the Le Castellet circuit in France on 12 and 13 May.

Jeep® Brand Rides WSL Founders' Cup of Surfing Wave as Exclusive Automotive Partner



Surfer with the Best Individual Score at the End of Two-Day Event will be Awarded an All-New 2018 Jeep Wrangler

As part of its multi-year global deal, the Jeep brand is the exclusive automotive partner of the World Surf League's upcoming Founders' Cup of Surfing event, presented by Michelob ULTRA PURE Gold, a historic nation-versus-nation teams event featuring a cross-section of the world's best surfers, to be held at WSL Surf Ranch in Lemoore, Calif., May 5-6, 2018.

The WSL Surf Ranch facility boasts the best man-made wave in history - a 700-yard, high-performance, bi-directional wave featuring barrel sections and maneuver sections. Primarily existing as a testing facility, the Lemoore site has spent the past two years dialing in the technology under the guidance of 11-time WSL Champion Kelly Slater (USA) and feedback from visiting WSL surfers. The technology has captured the imagination of the global surfing community. The Founders' Cup will be the WSL's first public event at the facility - showcasing the wave and the world's best surfers through a unique team format.

The Jeep brand will have an on-site activation at the event, including the recently announced "Jeep Sessions: A Surfing Journey in 360° virtual reality experience, where fans can take a virtual reality adventure with Jeep Ambassadors Jordy Smith and Malia Manuel. In addition, five "Crazy Passionate" videos embodying the shared DNA between the Jeep brand and the spirit and soul of surfing/surf lifestyle will run across the Jeep brand's social and digital channels.

Additional elements of the Founders' Cup partnership include:
  • "Jeep Best Ride" - Athletes will be scored on each run, and the leading run over the course of the contest will hold the title of "Jeep Best Ride." Broadcast viewers will see a special icon next to the name of the current "Jeep Best Ride" leader whenever he or she is in the water, and when the competition concludes, the athlete with the highest score overall will take home an all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler.
  • Jeep Athlete Signings on May 5 (with Jordy Smith) and on May 6 (with Tyler Wright)

Five teams - USA, Brazil, Australia, Europe and World - made up of three men and two women surfers from the elite WSL Championship Tour, will compete over the two-day event. The competition will be hosted against a festival backdrop honoring the culture of surfing - food, music, beverage, art and special guests will all be on site for enjoyment. A weekend of thrills with Abarth



The Abarth 124 rally will be competing in three European events, while the Abarth-powered single-seaters return to the circuit for the second competition in the ADAC F4 Championship

  • Four Abarth 124 rally cars on the starting line: 2 crews in the famous Targa Florio in Italy, one in Spain in the Canary Islands Rally, and the fourth in the Transilvania Rally in Romania.
  • On the track, at the Hockenheim circuit in Germany, thirty or so young drivers take part in the second event in the ADAC F4 Championship for Abarth-powered single-seaters
Another weekend of excitement with Abarth is in store for Scorpion brand drivers. Italy hosts the Targa Florio, third event in the Italian Rally Championship, Spain sees the Canary Islands Rally, valid for the Spanish Tarmac Rally Championship, the Transilvania Rally takes place in Romania, and in Germany young drivers compete in the second race in the ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth.

The Targa Florio - now contested in a rally format - is one of the world's most prestigious races and is valid for the Abarth 124 rally Selenia International Challenge, in which it will involve two Bernini Rally team crews, comprising young Italian drivers Cristopher Lucchesi, with navigator Marco Pollicino, and Andrea Modanesi, with Michele Castelli providing the guidance. Lucchesi currently heads the R-GT 2-Wheel Drive category of the Italian Championship, thanks to his two victories in the first two races, the Il Ciocco Rally and the "Sanremo".

The Targa Florio Rally starts from Palermo at 5.30 pm on Friday 4 May and concludes at 9 pm on the following day in Cefalù, after the competitors have tackled a course 439 km long, with 16 time-trial special stages totalling 155 km.

The Spanish crew of Alberto Monarri (SP) and Rodrigo Sanjuán (SP) from the SMC Junior Motorsport team also enjoyed success in the last event, at the Rally Sierra Morena, and therefore starts in the Canary Islands Rally as favourite in the 2-Wheel Drive and R-GT categories. The race forms part of the Spanish Tarmac Rally Championship - in which the Spanish team is aiming to repeat its category win in 2017- , as well as the European Championship, and comprises two stages, the first on Friday 4 and the second on Saturday 5 May. The route winds across the Spanish Atlantic island and is 602 km long, with 13 special stages totalling 202 km.

The fourth Abarth 124 rally car is taking part in the Transilvania Rally in Romania, the second event in the national championship, with Florin Tincescu (ROM) and Alina Pop (ROM), from the Bernini Rally team. Here again, the Abarth 124 rally is the car to beat in the 2-Wheel Drive and R-GT categories, since in the first race in the series, the Brasov Rally, the Romanian crew won both categories, finishing in 9th position overall. The Transilvania Rally starts at 4 pm on Friday 5 May and ends the next day at 6.43 pm, after 15 special stages (158 km of time trials), over a course with total length of 541 km.



Abarth also returns to the track, with the second event in the ADAC F4 Championship Powered by Abarth on the Hockenheim circuit. Around thirty very young drivers will line up at the wheel of the high-performing Tatuus single-seaters powered by the Abarth T-Jet engine. At the first event, on the Oschersleben circuit, German driver Lirim Zendeli won two of the three races, and he now heads the rankings ahead of Brazilian Enzo Fittipaldi - grandson of 2-times world champion Emerson.

There are three races scheduled: the first at 10.35 am on Saturday 5 May, the second at 3.30 pm on the same day and the third at 10.40 am on Sunday 6 May.
